Itinerary: Apollonia and Vlora

Meet the group at hotel lobby. Depart for a daily tour to the main interesting sight as Apollonia & Vlora city.
Apollonia – Situated 12 km from the city of Fier and 1 hour and 15 min far from Vlora city. Illyrian Apollonian was found at the beginning of the 7-th century BC by the Greek colonists coming from Corinth and Corcyra. Apollonian was in Roman times, a large and flourishing city near Aos river (today Vjosa). Of great interest to be visited are; The Encircling Wall, the monuments of Agonothetes, the Library, the Odeon, the Portico, the house with mosaics, The Museum of Apollonia, the Church of St. Mary. Unfortunaly, some of the statues and object were appropriated before 1946 by other countries. Those remaining are displayed in the museum, which is housed in the monastery. The monastery courtyard enclosed a Byzantine church dating back to the 14th century. We will visit:

  • The Museum of Apollonia.
  • The Excavations and the Monuments of Apollonia.

Free time for optional Lunch – (Albanian traditional meal). After Lunch transfer to Vlora city.
Vlora – The city of Vlora, known also as Vlonë, or Valona is located in the southwest of Albania, with a population of 61,300 inhabitants. It is in front of Karaburuni peninsula and Sazani Island, close to various sandy and rocky beaches and the scenic nearby mountains. Vlora is Albania’s second largest port, having regular ferry boat.
After the tour back in the hotel. Leave the group at hotel lobby.
