Bulgaria holiday, tailor made

The tour starts from Sofia. Your guide will come to pick you up from any hotel in Sofia. Today we will visit 2 of UNESCO World Heritage sites in Bulgaria: Boyana Church (in Vitosha Mountains) and Rila Monastery (in Rila Mountains). Overnight in Gorno Draglishte village in a traditional guesthouse, where we will try home-made dinner.

Morning visits to Dobarsko Church from 17th century and Bansko Old Town with stone houses and narrow cobbled streets. Transfer through Rhodope Mountains and the charming Kosovo village, where will spend one overnight in a 200-year old stone house.

Visit to Bachkovo Monastery – the second biggest and most important monastery in Bulgaria and sightseeing in Plovdiv Old Town: Revival-period houses, Roman Amphitheater, Ethnographic Museum. Transfer to Kalofer town, situated on the footsteps of the Balkan Mountains.

Discover the valley of the Thracian Kings and Rose Valley. Visit to Kazanlak Thracian Tomb, dating back to 4th c BC (UNESCO site). Later we will cross the Balkan Range to the mountain town of Tryavna.

Explore Tryavna crafts street and woodcarving museum. Later we head further North to Veliko Tarnovo – the old capital of Bulgaria. Afternoon visit to Tzarevets Medieval Castle perched on a hill above Veliko Tarnovo cobbled streets.

Free time to explore Veliko Tarnovo craft streets. Later visit to Arbanasi village-museum with stone-roofed houses and many painted churches. Transfer to Lovech Old town.

We head back to Sofia, on the way we will visit Troyan Monastery. In the afternoon: Sofia walking city tour.

Free time to explore Sofia on your own (depending on your flight schedule) and transfer to Sofia airport.
